Mardi Gras Kids Bead Necklace

Mardi Gras bead necklaces are a favorite item to have during this annual celebration. And this simple paper beaded necklace is a great way for the kids join in with the festive preparations and an opportunity to use up any paper scraps you might have.
Instructions:
1. Cut varying width strips of pattern paper – ½”, ¾” and 1” wide by 6” long.
2. Use a skewer to begin rolling the paper strip around (tightly) the skewer.
3. Slip the paper bead off the skewer before the last 2 inches are rolled; apply liquid glue to the inside of the end and continue rolling until the bead is complete.
4. Let beads dry; touching up any loose ends with liquid glue.
5. Apply glitter or paint as desired and let dry.
6. Cut 24” or more of beading string and thread beads on the string; tie a knot at the end and the necklace is ready to wear!
