This little punch with embossing is so sweet. The embossing needs you to push down and hold it for a few seconds for it to show nicely, but I've done it on cardstock. Obviously depending on your paper weight and the pressure you keep on it will determine how much you can see. My daughter, who is tiny, just sets a big dictionary on it for about 3 seconds. She doesn't have the power to keep pressing in that long. It works great. If you do it quick you get just the cut with minimum embossing, dual use. I gave this 5 stars because for me it is practical, easy to use, I get to determine how much detail I want for the embossing, and i get 4 sweet little corners to jazz up my note cards in letters. The only con i have is that after making so many corners ....my hand gets tired of holding each for 2-3 secs. But that is what breaks are for and planning ahead~

Embossing detail does not show through on paper edge. Very disappointed.
