Beginner, Cardstock, Embellishing, How-To-Projects, Ink, Papers, Patterned Paper, Smitha Katti, Stamping, Winter,
The holiday season is here, and even though we plan ahead of time, I always find myself needing a couple of quick cards at the last moment.
Today’s cards are simple, and you can easily make them just before heading out the door to a party!
You will need one 12 by 12 inch cardstock in white/cream or any other neutral color. Select upto 4 different holiday themed patterned papers and set to work.
First, using a paper trimmer, cut your cardstock into three 4inch strips. From each strip, cut out a 4 inch piece. Fold the larger pieces to make a card as seen in the above photo. The remaining 4 by 4 inch squares, we will use to decorate and later stick onto our cards.
CARD 1:
To make this card, use 4 different holiday punches on 4 different patterened papers. Trim around the negative punched area to make a rectangle measuring 1.5 inches wide and 1.75 inches tall. You can ink the edges of these blocks or distress them if you wish. Adhere these blocks onto one 4 by 4 inch square and affix a sentiment using some foam squares as seen in the photo above.
CARD 2:
To make this card, punch out 11 circles using a medium round squeeze punch. Adhere them on a diagonal onto a 4 inch square. Add a sentiment with a foam square. Trim off the circles that go beyond the square. Ink or distress the edges of the card if desired.
CARD 3:
To make this card, place a 4 inch square of cardstock on a larger piece of cardstock and stamp image onto it. Try using non seasonal stamps, but color the image using holiday colors! Use color pencils, copics or watercolors, whatever you have on hand. This is something even kids would love to do, it does not have to be perfect. To highlight the flowers, add tiny dots of glossy accent over the flowers. Finally, adhere a sentiment with foam squares.
