Simple Holiday Cards

When deciding what holiday cards to send out this year, it dawned on me that the part I dislike about putting mass-produced cards together is adhering everything. So I came up with two cards (one to fit a regular business envelope) designed to avoid adhesive that keep me doing what I love to do, using my Fiskars' tools!



There is something classic yet modern about a very simple design. I am currently obsessed with giving just a hint of a shape, as I've done here with easily recognizable holiday icons, a snowman and wreath.

Modern Snowman Card



By punching half of a snowman directly into the front cover, all I have to do is adhere a strip of white cardstock inside to bring him to life. 



1. Punch an XL, L, and M Round 'n Round Squeeze Punch into the right border of folded card a little more than midpoint of punches. To make this super simple for future cards, place next card inside to use as a template for your punches so you won't have to think at all!

2. Punch a square or rectangle (I actually used the right angle of an arrow) at top for hat. Punch brim using Rectangle Hand Punch.


3. Add two buttons with glue dots, and you're done!



Modern Wreath Card



I love the modern look of wreaths made from circles, but I didn't want to deal with adhering all of those little guys. So I punched directly onto card using the Eyelet Punch Set with green cardstock mounted inside.



1. Create card base and adhere green cardstock inside right side.


2. Trace circle from Circles Shape Template on back of front cover. Punch along circle with alternating sized Eyelet Punches on protected surface. Erase pencil.

3. Be sure to punch two medium circles centered at bottom of wreath. Thread ribbon through holes and tie bow at front.


4. Add self-adhesive gems and round corners if desired.
