Feather Punched Congratulations Card

The new Feather Lever Punch is a favorite for all kinds of pretty and trendy crafts.

It adds a bit of trendiness mixed with a classic look to any card or project. Whether you have a graduate in your life, a friend with big news, or a co-worker has gotten a promotion, this congratulations card is a simple and elegant way to celebrate their achievements. You might say that you can give them some feathers for their cap.

Here is how to put this project together.

Start out with complimentary shades of the same color to create an ombre look.  I went with a teal shade.

Punch feathers from each shade.

Using decopauge you can add glass glitter to the feathers.  Just dip into a bit of the medium and then sprinkle on a thick layer of glitter.

To create this, I cheated and used premade card bases.  I love to do this because it makes it easier to replicate the same card over and over again without having to make all of the bases.  If, however, you want to, the base is 8.5”x5.5”, folded in half.

Cut some background paper to fit on with about a ¼” all the way around.

Next cut a 1” strip of one of the teal pieces and cut it into a long banner shape.

Using a pretty pin, add a ribbon to the top of the banner.

Adhere your dried feathers and some coordinating washi tapes to the card.

Finish it with a stamped sentiment of “congratulations”

Now all that is left to do is add a little note, and maybe a little token or gift, on the inside of the card and share it with the person you are celebrating.
