With a few discarded mailing tubes, construction paper, and Fiskars Squeeze Punches you can craft these characters in under 20 minutes.
The AdvantEdge™ Punch System features slide-and-lock technology that makes punching perfectly aligned borders easier than ever.
It can be quick and easy to dress up an ordinary cookie jar when giving cookies as a gift. It can also be beautiful and look like it took a lot longer to do than it actually did. I love projects like this – it looks like you spent hours, when in reality it only took you about 15 minutes to put it all together, which you can do while the cookies are baking!
First you will want to trim your cardstock to about 5”x5”. This just makes it more manageable when running it through the Fiskars Fuse.
Next, grab some of your favorite colors of craft markers. I went with red, teal, and brown. I quickly colored my letterpress plate and then sat it in the die.
Once it was all colored and ready to go, I removed the lid from the bottom, allowing the plate to fall down into the die. I put my paper on top of that, added the cutting plate, and ran it through the machine. I inked the edges of the finished embellishment to add a bit of a distressed look. I quickly grabbed a library pocked, inked the edges of it as well, and then wrapped some baker’s twine around the edge.
I adhered the “handmade with love” embellishment I made to the library pocket and then punched a hole in it to tie it to the lid.
Finally, using a pre-made tag from my paper kit and coordinating patterned paper, I created a note tag to slip into the pocket. I just put the big sticker down and then trimmed the paper out around it. I wrote a little note and we were all set!
The hardest part of this entire project was not eating the cookies before they got in the jar and delivered to my neighbor!
