Jam Session Spring Cards

Several things come to mind as I look forward to spring. The snow melts, the birds look for places to nest, and the seasonal farmers market comes to town. There’s nothing better than local produce, and strawberries are one of the first things we enjoy.

I created this card to celebrate the sweet joys of spring using the new Fresh Fruit Simple Stick Stamps.

With the nice open line design of the stamp set, I opted to paper piece the strawberry image using patterned paper. It’s a fun way to create a unique image without coloring in the design. Simply stamp the image twice on your patterned papers and cut out portions with your microtip scissors, then put the design back together with dimensional dots for interest. I used brown ink on this design to coordinate with the patterned paper.

I then used the same supplies to decorate a jar of homemade strawberry jam. I paper pieced the strawberry again to coordinate the tag with the card. I think it will make a nice hostess gift this spring. I can imagine using this stamp set to decorate all sorts of gifts from the kitchen along with coordinating tags and cards.
