Spring Rainbow Cards

March is one of my favorite months!

Spring is right around the corner, and St. Patrick’s Day is a bright and fun celebration at the end of a grey winter.

I love the magical idea of following a rainbow to a pot of gold. Is there anything more magical than rainbows? These Rainbow cards are a chance to infuse brightness and color into your crafting.

Choose a variety of bright papers

For the Rainbow Hello card, start by choosing a variety of patterned papers in a rainbow of colors. Have fun mixing up patterns!

Spring Rainbow Hello card

Starting with a white base, layer 2 inch strips of patterned paper that has been punched with your favorite border punch (I chose Lacy Doubles). I added a block of white textured cardstock to the bottom to create a clean space for a sticker sentiment.

Using the Fly Away Squeeze punch make a variety of butterflies

Now it’s time to grab your favorite squeeze punch design! Punch shapes from cardstock, and one from patterned paper, for each color.

Spring Rainbow Butterfly Card

I wanted the butterflies to stand out against a white background, but didn’t want it to look flat, so I added a layer of textured white cardstock. Then I adhered the cardstock butterflies in repeating lines. For the row of patterned butterflies, I added adhesive down just the center of the punch so that the wings can be folded up slightly.
