Stamped Wedding Favors

Favors can be an important detail in any wedding.

Aside from being a small thank you for the guests attending, favors also serve to express in their design the bride and grooms personality, style and tastes. They are often coordinated with a theme or they are matched to a color scheme. Fortunately, there is an abundance of options to choose from regarding favors. But finding a cost effective yet personal favor can still be a challenge.

One way to be certain that the favors are what you hope and dream of is to make them yourself. Using box and bag templates along with Fiskars stamps custom designed wedding or bridal shower favors can be created. Fiskars has three sets of recently released stamps that are particular favorites of mine - Forever, Butterfly Magic and For the Birds. These three sets share a similar style with scroll and flourish details and all have a sophisticated and elegant look. Their versatility and the ability to mix and combine the stamps makes these favors a snap to create.

The first favor is a small paper bag intended as a Bridal Shower favor. Once the template shape was cut out, I simply stamped all sides of the cream paper with various designs. I also stamped additional shapes on blue paper, cut these shapes out and adhered them on top of the same design with adhesive foam to give the pieces dimension.

The next favor is a pillow box that is by far the quickest of the three favors to assemble. Once the box is assembled, a piece of ribbon is attached and a circles of patterned paper are adhered to the front. Again, an image (the cake) is stamped and another cake image is layered over the first. I also added a glossy product to make the cake shine.

The final example is an inverted icicle box. A ribbon is attached to the narrow end and the bottom is sealed firmly to ensure that the contents remain within. Once the cone was assembled I created a monogram label and stamped butterfly images on patterned paper. I used the Ultra ShapeXpress to cut out the shapes. I slightly curled the butterflies and attached them to the cone with adhesive foam.
