Fancy Floral Picks

These Fancy Floral Picks are a great way to add some pizzazz to any plant or a floral arrangement you give.

The recipient of this gift will appreciate this personalization and thoughtful touch.

These picks were created with mom in mind, but you could make one for any occasion or event.

I’ve been writing DIY projects for many years now, and during this time I’ve accumulated a tremendous amount crafting supplies. For every project I design, there’s a trip to the craft store, but for this project, I challenged myself to work with what I had, and created these picks from the scrap pile I had on the corner of my table. I encourage you to do the same! Use up those bits that were to toss, and turn them into a special something for someone special!

Take your Fuse Creativity System® oval design set, and layer two scraps of tulle and one scrap of patterned cardstock on top.  Cover with the cutting plate, crank it through the machine, and punch out the shapes.

Punch two “Running in Circles” from a coordinating cardstock. Attach all of the pieces together as pictured using adhesive foam dots to give dimension. Wrap a band of washi tape around a popsicle stick, and use a glue gun to attach the stick to the back.

To create this design, begin by cutting a hexagon shape with your Fuse from a solid-colored cardstock. If you like, ink up one of the coordinating plates and add some texture and color. Cut a second hexagon from a patterned cardstock.

Stamp a “Happy Mother’s Day” or sentiment of your choice on a small rectangular scrap. Punch a heart from patterned cardstock.

Run a stripe of washi tape across the bottom of your solid-colored hexagon. Snip the top third of the patterned hexagon and glue it to the top of the solid hexagon.  Adhere your heart and rectangle with adhesive foam dots. Tuck a few paper flowers into the top of the rectangle and attach them with a glue gun. Add a stick to the back using the glue gun.

Use a paper trimmer to cut a 3.5 x 2 inch rectangle from a coordinating paper.

Punch several strawberries and cherries out of berry-toned paper and solid green cardstock. Cut the “stems” and “leafy tops” off of the green strawberries and cherries and glue them to the berry-toned strawberries and cherries.
