Party Favors

These little party favor packages are a great way to present even a simple gift in an impressive way. They require a quick pass through the Fiskars Fuse, a little bit of stamping, and two simple stitched lines.

Party Favors display

Begin by cutting a piece of cardstock to 5 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches. Place the Fuse letterpressing plate on the baseplate so that the edge the design will impress 1 1/4 inches from the left edge of the cardstock and 1 1/2 inches from the bottom. Run the cardstock through the machine. Stamp as desired. I used a sentiment from the Lasting Love Clear Stamp set and a butterfly image from the Butterfly Magic Clear Stamp set.

Folded paper

Without creasing the cardstock, fold it in half matching the 2 side edges.

Using a sewing machine and a 1/4 inch seam allowance, stitch down the side, turning the corner and continuing along the bottom of the folded cardstock taking care to prevent creasing the opposite side.

Carefully open the top of the package and fill it with your party favor. Gently press the top edges together so that they form an edge that runs 90 degrees opposite of the bottom edge of the package. Stitch the opening closed and gently reshape the package if any areas have collapsed.

Present the party favors in a large basket, on a pretty platter, or individually as part of the place setting at the guests' tables.
