Here are some easy and quick ideas of how to use a few of Fiskars latest seasonal punches to decorate your Thanksgiving table this year. Create place cards, napkin rings, candle wraps, wine/water goblet tags and even a keepsake “Give Thanks” box to share your gratitude year after year.

Instructions:

Name Place Card – Cut 3 inch by 6 inch pieces of pattern paper. Border Punch end of strip with Kaleidoscope Border Punch and fold in half. Squeeze Punch a 2 inch circle from dark brown cardstock and adhere it near the top fold of the card. Squeeze Punch 1 inch circle from green cardstock and fold into a stem then adhere it to the center top of the circle. Squeeze Punch leaves, crinkle and adhere these alongside the stem. Squeeze Punch 6 - 1.5 inch circles from orange cardstock and fold each in half. Adhere the folded circles together to create the dimensional globe. Adhere the pumpkin to the brown cardstock. Print or stamp name on light pattern paper and adhere just below the dimensional pumpkin accent.

Coaster – Cover a recycled paper coaster with fresh pattern paper. Round the corners, if needed with the Corner Squeeze Punch. Squeeze Punch a 2 inch circle and Maple Leaf to embellish and complete the coaster.

Napkin Rings – Cut 2 inch by 12 inch strips of striped pattern paper. Run strips through Crimping Tool. Next, cut 1 inch by 6 inch strips of cardstock. Apply strong adhesive to the cardstock and carefully press onto the back of the crimped strip. Trim the crimped strip to the same length. The cardstock strip will prevent the crimped paper from flattening as you work with it to shape a napkin ring. Apply adhesive to the one end and create a ring. For the accent, cut a square from yellow pattern paper and use the 3-in-1 Corner Squeeze Punch on each corner. Layer a Squeeze Punched Turkey, circle and scalloped circle on top of the corner punched square with adhesive foam.

Tip: Accordion fold the napkin and slip through the napkin ring once it’s complete. Fan it out slightly for a pretty shape.
Candle Wraps – Follow similar steps to create the candle wraps, except cut decorative paper strips to show on the front side. Again, these will stabilize the crimped strips from flattening. I cut 2 inch high strips for the short candles and a 4 inch high strip for the taller pillar candle. Once attached to the candles, tie a hemp bow and embellish with a button. Also, Squeeze Punch oak leaves and tuck behind the bow with adhesive.

Wine/Water Goblet Tag – Lever Punch a tag from blue pattern paper. Use the Pop-Up Circle Punch to punch a circle near the top of the tag. Stamp a leaf design just under the circle and color with markers or colored pencils. Use the Micro Tip Scissors to snip an angle cut at the top of the tag. This will allow you to slip the tag onto the stem of your glass. Print or stamp a name on light colored pattern paper, then adhere with adhesive foam.

Give Thanks Box – Paint and cover a paper mache box with pattern paper. Use the Double Bubble Border Punch to embellish the lid. Adhere a small wooden craft knob to the top and tie a fabric strip and sticker tag to embellish further. Cut 3.5 inch cards from light colored pattern paper. Squeeze Punch the top corners with the Summer Fun 3-in-1 Squeeze Punch. Adhere a 1.5 inch circle and a Turkey punch near the top of each card.

At each place setting, include a name place card, goblet tag, and napkin ring on the plate. On Thanksgiving, pass the “Give Thanks Box” around the table so that each person can add their thoughts to one of the cards. The box can be used year after year to collect your memories and serve as a treasured keepsake. You can even tuck in photos or attach them to the back of each card.
