Every once in a while, I truly enjoy taking my supplies and making something different. This is one of those projects. It was quick, simple, and yet dynamic and unique all at the same time.

Every once in a while, I truly enjoy taking my supplies and making something different. This is one of those projects. It was quick, simple, and yet dynamic and unique all at the same time.

To get started, grab your brown paint and collage pauge. Make a mix that is 80% collage pauge and 20% paint. This makes a nice glaze and put a thin layer onto your canvas. Put it to the side and let it dry

Take your large background stamp and permanent black ink and stamp it onto your book page. I just used pages from an old dictionary.

Also stamp a small border for the bottom of the canvas and cover with the same brown glaze you created for the canvas.

Create a dress top template and trace it onto your stamped image with a permanent black marker.

Create a thin glaze again with collage pauge and paint – I used red, but you can use any color you want – and do a quick layer onto the top of the dress. Once it is dry, cut it out.

While these pieces are drying, add a couple of accent stamps to a book page and stamp them close to the long edge. Go in next with your border punch and punch all the way down. Using your scissors, trim it down to a workable size. Create another glaze, paint it and dry.

Using the collage pauge, adhere your dress top to the canvas. To do this, use a little bit of the collage pauge under the dress top to secure it and then seal it completely on top, painting a thin layer across the entire thing. Do the same with the brown trim piece at the bottom of the canvas.

Taking some cute cloud punches and a scrap piece of paper, punch out masks and use them to paint clouds onto the top of the canvas. Allow them to dry.

Next, accordion fold your punched dress bottom, cut it to size, and hot glue it into place. Use ribbon and a fun button to add some texture and interest, as well as some craft beads at the neck. Add some little clips and string to create your feeling of it being on a line outside.

Finally using a permanent pen and add your sentiment, then hang and display.

I hope you have fun creating your own little fashionable display for your home.
