This framed project was made after being issued the challenge to make something using a limited number of supplies.

Those supplies were these items only: circle squeeze punches, alphabet stickers, 3 sheets of patterned paper, and adhesive and/or glue.

march12challenge3

So, I began by selecting my patterned papers, being sure to select ones that were doubled-sided and had lots of colors throughout the pattern so they would add more interest to the overall project.

Knowing I wanted to frame the finished project, I cut down the grey tone-on-tone paper to a standard picture frame size before adding my alphabet stickers to spell out the quote “She is an artist and her life is her canvas.”

Then, I began punching circles with my Large Round N Round Squeeze Punch. If you look at the metal where the punched shape comes from you’ll notice a pencil eraser sized circle. Insert each punched circle back into the punch and line up the outer edge of the circle with the outer edge of the eraser-sized circle and punch again.

You should be able to get two of these leaf-like shapes from each whole circle as shown above.

march12challenge7

Then you’ll start arranging your shapes so the outer edges form a circle. I found it easiest to arrange them without adhesive to balance the colors before adhering them. Mini glue dots work perfect for getting them put in place immediately. I don’t recommend using a liquid adhesive because they will shift before drying completely.

You’ll notice on the finished project that I left some of the circles unfinished to add more interest to the overall piece.

The finished piece will look something like this and is ready to be framed!
