Fun and easy ways to bring a touch of spring to your gifts and home.
Bring a little seasonal charm to your home by creating this lovely paper wreath. It’s easy to make, especially if you get a little help punching out all the shapes.
This wreath was created with Christmas in mind, but you could easily adjust the design to work with any holiday or season.
Begin by wrapping a Styrofoam wreath form with ribbon or seam binding. Stick a straight pin through the ribbon tail and into the foam to secure.
Select four or five sheets of coordinating holiday papers. Be sure to include nice mix of glittered and pattern papers, and one contrasting, darker paper too.
From the patterned and glittered papers, punch a mix of round shapes – just plain circles, scalloped circles or the Gearin’ Up punch all work great. For a 10” wreath, you need roughly 130 one-inch circles. Of course, if you use a larger wreath form, it will require more circles.
Next, punch out a few holiday shapes, such as pears and Christmas trees from a contrasting, solid paper.
Use sequin pins to attach the circles, one by one, to the top of your wreath form.
Work your way around the wreath until the form is completely covered.
Use adhesive dimensional dots to attach your holiday punched shapes. Place them randomly around the wreath.
Trim your wreath with a bow made of paper or ribbon and attach with pins or glue.
