It was also worn in the middle ages as a love charm during wedding celebrations, and newlyweds would plant a rosemary branch on their wedding day and if the branch grew it was a good omen for the union.
Luckily for me I have always been quite successful at growing rosemary (with much better results than any other herb I have tried to grow), and have a large plant in my herb garden. I hope this is a good omen for my future!
I used the Fuse Creativity System® to create this scalloped square embellishment as a beautiful base to mount a sprig of rosemary for a new take on an anniversary card. I bought a card blank measuring 4.25" x 5.5" and cut a strip of patterned paper to fit along the bottom. For texture and detail, I layered some coordinating ribbon and a piece of ric rac along one edge and stitched them together on my sewing machine.
Next I took my Fiskars poppy and scalloped circle lever punches to create a flower from cardstock. I pierced a hole through the center of the two shapes with my eyelet punch and inserted a brad to join.
I used a pretty wooden button I found and brightened it up with a touch of red cotton thread tied in a bow.
I decided to print the phrase ‘Rosemary for Remembrance’ on my computer, though I also think a handwritten note would make your card extra special and unique.
Finally, I came up with a super simple method for mounting the rosemary inside the frame by piercing two holes inside the corner, and threading the rosemary through one hole and out the other.
