Father’s Day Shadow Box

This shadowbox project is a perfect way to celebrate the relationship between a father and his children.

My boys and I worked together to find photos of them with daddy, and then they added their own drawings to the project. I am loving the new XXXL and XXL Circle Lever Punches – the larger sizes are a nice compliment to my old favorites – the Round N Round squeeze punches.

Instructions:

  1. Use the USX Super Sized Circle templates to draw a 7.5in circle on a piece of white paper. Ask your children to draw a picture of them doing an activity they like to do with their father.
  2. Scan the drawings and resize to 2.75 inches x 2.75 inches. Print onto photo paper.
  3. Use your XXL Circle Lever Punch to punch out the drawings.

  4. Print six photos of your children with their father at 2.25 inches x 2.25inches. Punch using your XL Round N Round Squeeze Punch.
  5. Punch three pieces of patterned paper using the XXXL Circle Lever Punch. Layer these to the back of the punched drawings, using foam adhesive.

  6. Punch nine pieces of patterned paper using the XXL Circle Lever Punch. Layer six of them to the photos – use foam adhesive on some so that you have a variety of levels. Staple others directly to the patterned paper.
  7. Punch circles in two of the patterned paper circles using your L Round N Round punch.
  8. Attach all of the circles in a 3x4 grid on your background cardstock. Add foam adhesive behind some of the patterned paper circles.
  9. Punch three hearts using your M That’s Amore Squeeze Punch. Add two to the punched out circles using foam adhesive.
  10. Use your XXL Tag Lever Punch to punch a tag from ledger paper. Punch a circle in the end using a 1/8 inch hand punch, and tie a bow through it using baker’s twine.
  11. Add to the last empty circle using foam adhesive. Use a punched heart and rubon letters to add a sentiment.
  12. Add strips of text patterned paper to the top and bottom of the page. Add strips of blue patterned paper punched with your Scallop Sentiment border punch along the text paper.
