Handmade July 4th Banner

Have the kids join in the fun to make this patriotic banner, using the Fuse Creativity System®!

I love the Fourth of July!  I love the red, white and blue, hot weather, parades, picnics, flags, and many more fun traditions.  With just a few supplies from around the house and in the craft room, kids can help create this banner to help decorate for the 4th of July.

Banner Background:
Gather the kids around and create some fireworks with metallic paint (add just a little water) and a paintbrush. With just a ‘tap’ on the top of the brush, each color will create a colorful background for the banner.

Using paper lunch bags, fold each bag in half and cut the bottom into a banner. Glue the paper bag in half. Layer the background paper with a Fuse Frame Design Set and a large chipboard/cardboard letter.
Embellish with paper punched with Jenni Bowlin Quilt Star Squeeze Punch and buttons. Staple the paper bag banner pieces to burlap ribbon. Embellish in between each banner piece with ribbon.

Quilt Star Sewn Garland:
Punch several patterned paper pieces with the Jenni Bowlin Quilt Star Punch.
Place the first star under the foot of the sewing machine and stich through the star. When the paper star clears the foot, place another star under the foot. Repeat this process until you have the length of garland you desire.

Enjoy your banner décor all summer long with a patriotic theme that is sure to inspire!
