As the school year winds down, this Autograph Book offers a nice place to gather signatures, messages and memories from teachers and friends before everyone says "so long" for the summer. You can involve your child in the creation of this book, or make it by yourself and give as an end-of-the-year surprise.
As a child, I had several books of autographs that were gathered while away at summer camp. These precious books were my inspiration for this project. Many years have passed and I can't recall faces to match up with every signature, but still, these books hold many memories.
I encourage you to try this project and help preserve memories from these precious days for your little ones.
Use your paper trimmer to cut solid and patterned cardstock in the following dimensions:
6" x 12"
6" x 11.5"
6" x 11"
6" x 10.5"
6" x 10"
6" x 9.5"
6" x 9
6" x 8.5"
6" x 8"
Stack the pages in order of size, with the smallest on top, and the largest on the bottom.
Use your favorite border punches to punch a few of the page edges. Add a stripe or two of washi tape.
Stamp a few words, images, and sentiments on the pages.
Punch out a few shapes from the pages too.
On an acrylic block, line up the months of the year stamps from September to June. Ink, and stamp on the book cover.
Neatly stack your pages, and carefully staple the pages together, approximately a 1/2 inch in from the left edge of the book. Wrap a band of Washi tape over the staples and around the book to secure.
Send the book and a few colorful pens to school with your child.
