Dressed Up Cookies

Who says store bought cookies can’t look fancy? As much as I want to think that I can always bake cookies when I need cookies, the reality is that I can’t.

That sometimes means I am dashing to the cookie aisle, staring at packages of pre-made sugary goodness, trying to imagine how I can, in good conscience, give them to someone.

What I have realized is that in a pretty wrapper, anything and everything looks better. So, I have a few of these little boxes pre-made and stashed – this is a great project to do when you are starting at another project that just isn’t working… it keeps you creating, plus gets you packaging for later! Putting these together is actually very quick and simple, but makes a big impact.

To get started, place your letterpress plates into the die and ink them. Place a piece of 12x12 thin chipboard over the top, add the cutting plate, then run it through your Fuse. In one quick roll, you have all of your pieces letterpressed, cut, and scored. Use your adhesive and finish the box.

To dress up the box, add some fun trim to the bottom with my adhesive.

Once that is done, take one of the little embellishments you made, add some bling, a button, write a little note, and add a few feathers if you want to really dress it up.

Now you take that little embellishment and add it to the lid of your box.Once that part is done, all you have to do is add a little bit of frill to your other tag from the set and you are all ready to add some cookies.

I just take the cookies, put them in a nice clear treat bag, tie on my little message tag, add some tulle, and then it is all dressed up and ready to go.

Then I slip my little cookie bag into the box, close it up, and it is ready to hand off whenever I need that quick little gift.

all packed up

Since it is so easy to get the pieces ready, I just make 5 or 6 at a time and have them on hand to just grab and go as I need to and it looks like I spent hours of time and makes my store-bought cookies look so pretty that people don’t even notice that I didn’t have time to bake.
