Train Layout

I was excited to get my hands on the new Picket Fence border punch thinking of all of the cute things that could be made. Then I discovered an unconventional use for it in a train track! There are lots of train projects around this house with my two boys, so this technique will get plenty of use.

Punch two strips of black cardstock with Picket Fence border punch and trim off design with paper trimmer. Adhere the two together on your layout aligning to create a super easy train track!

The Continuous Stamp Wheel is another tool I get a lot of use from. Here I loaded a subtle grey ink cartridge to stamp a monochromatic design on my cardstock for a patterned paper that was muted enough to add my title and embellishments over while adding a bit of whimsy.

I stamped the design again using a red cartridge onto white cardstock and cut out the train engine for an individual embellishment to place on my track. I finished off the layout by adding a titled photo block, a punny title, and buttons for train smoke puffs to play off the colorful patterned paper at the bottom.
