The 2014 Winter Games are the perfect time to challenge your friends to show off their skills in the kitchen. This Winter Game Soup challenge takes on an international flair when you choose a country for each guest. It will be their job to find a recipe that is inspired by their assigned country. Each contestant will bring a pot of finished soup to be warmed up and served. Add in cheese & crackers or crusty bread, and you’ll have an event that will leave everyone feeling like a winner!
Create an Apron Invitation to set the tone for your Soup Challenge.
First, trim a piece of cardstock to approximately 4.5 x 6 inches.
Use a circle punch or scissors to remove a half-moon shape from the upper corners, creating an apron shape.
Use the Fiskars AdvantEdge™ Celtic Knot border punch to trim coordinating cardstock to the lower edge of the apron shape.
Layer a strip of patterned paper and title strip over the Celtic Knot border.
Stamp You’re Invited with the Teresa Collins Simple Stick stamp, and add to invitation with foam dots.
Add a ribbon to the top of the invitation, and brads to the sides.
Trim strips of cardstock with the AdvantEdge™ Celtic Knot border punch. Attach end-to-end to create any length runner that you’d like.
Adhere border punched cardstock to a solid strip of cardstock.
Add circle punches for interest.
Create placemats by trimming patterned paper to approximately 12 x 10.
Add strips of punched cardstock, a strip of patterned paper, and circle punches for interest.
Create a medal die-cut to adhere to the lower corner of the placemat. Use foam dots for dimension.
May the best chef win!
