1. How long have you been crafting?

I have literally been crafting since since I had enough dexterity to hold a pair of scissors in my hand and make them work! Most of my childhood memories are centered around crafting with my mother and grandmothers and making special pieces for my school's art shows.

2. Why did you start crafting?

I started crafting as a child because it was a way of life for my family and I was exposed to it day in and day out. As I got older and left home, I felt that familiar pull toward a more creative life and dove back in as a way to occupy that innate desire.

3. How long have you been on the Fiskars design team?

I was asked to join the team in May 2011.

4. What are your favorite craft activities?

My favorite craft activities involve mixing the two worlds of papercrafting and textiles bringing them together in perfect harmony. I love making things beautifully handmade, especially flower embellishments from repurposed, upcycled materials. I love working with saturated colors and textured fabrics the most!

5. How do you define your crafting style/aesthetic?

My style is fresh and comfortable, polished and not forced, and very technique-driven with a strong focus on layering products. It often exhibits using tools and products in unexpected ways and almost always has hand-stitched details. I think my style follows design principles and is very linear in nature, without looking too overly graphic. So what do you call that? Homespun, polished up a bit? Sounds good.

6. What is your favorite time of day to craft?

I absolutely love to craft when everyone else has settled in for the night. That's when I feel like i can take a deep breath, slowly exhale and let the creativity come in.

7. What motivates/inspires you?

I'm highly motivated by a challenge because I like to see just how far I can push myself creatively. And, I'm deeply inspired by color, words and music. A good quote and thought-provoking music lyrics really resonate with me.
 
8. If you could only have one Fiskars® tool, what would it be and why?

Wow! That's a hard question. I think I would chose the Cuts+More Scissors. I'm a big fan of anything that has multiple uses and this tool is like a pocketknife on steroids! I love that I can literally use it for crafting, gardening and in the kitchen......eliminating the need for multiple tools. And, it's dishwasher safe! BONUS!
