Fiskars Chopping Axe (28")

  • Item: 375581-1001

Chops with unmatched power, speed and accuracy.

The all-purpose design of our 28" Chopping Axe makes felling trees quick and easy. Like all of our axes, this Chopping Axe combines perfected weight distribution, advanced blade geometry, an ultra-sharp edge and virtually unbreakable design to maximize your performance. This combination of features allows the blade to bite three times deeper when chopping. With more blade penetration on each swing, you can chop more wood in less time, with less effort and hand strain.

  • Ideal for felling trees
  • Chops up to three times deeper with each swing to chop more faster
  • Perfected balance and power-to-weight ratio increases swing speed to multiply power, much like an aluminum baseball bat
  • Proprietary blade-grinding technique provides a sharper edge for better contact and cleaner cuts
  • Hardened forged steel blade stays sharp longer than traditional axes
  • Low-friction blade coating powers through wood and prevents head from getting stuck
  • Inseparable PermaHead insert-molded head will not loosen and prevents overstrike breakage
  • Shock-absorbing DuraFrame handle is lightweight yet stronger than steel to prevent overstrike damage
  • Designed in Billnäs, Finland, building on a 360-year history of the world’s best forged tools
  • Includes blade guard
  • Lifetime warranty

  • Axes and Striking
      • How should I care for my axe?
        • Store the axe in a dry place
        • Keep the head lightly oiled when not in use to prevent rust
        • For safety, and to keep the blade sharp, use the protective sheath when the axe is not in use
      • What is the difference between chopping and splitting?
        • Chopping consists of cutting a horizontal log into segments with multiple swift, sharp, downward strokes of a hatchet or axe
        • Splitting consists of cutting a vertically positioned log in half with a single downward stroke of an axe

I have 2 of these axes (the older version with the half orange handle) that i have owned for years and they are in my opinion the best all around axe that you can buy whether chopping or splitting (i use them for both) it is nice to have a tool that you never have to replace the handle on and very rarely have to sharpen , THANKS FISKERS FOR MAKING THE BEST AXE ON THE MARKET !!!
