Get more done faster with a hatchet that chops deeper on every swing and includes a heavy-duty sheath.

An easy-to-carry choice perfect for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, our 14" Hatchet is ideal for chopping kindling and small- to medium-sized logs. Like every one of our axes, this hatchet combines perfected weight distribution, advanced blade geometry, an ultra-sharp edge and virtually unbreakable design to maximize your performance. This combination of features allows the blade to bite three times deeper when chopping. With more blade penetration on each swing, you can chop more wood in less time, with less effort and hand strain.

  • Axes and Striking
      • How should I care for my axe?
        • Store the axe in a dry place
        • Keep the head lightly oiled when not in use to prevent rust
        • For safety, and to keep the blade sharp, use the protective sheath when the axe is not in use
      • What is the difference between chopping and splitting?
        • Chopping consists of cutting a horizontal log into segments with multiple swift, sharp, downward strokes of a hatchet or axe
        • Splitting consists of cutting a vertically positioned log in half with a single downward stroke of an axe

having use many types of hatchets in real world situations i found this product to be the best i have ever use, very reliable for wood cutting and shaping, if you have to spent any time in the woods or cut wood around your home or have an emergency kit consider this product you will find it very useful. this company has a reputation of making first class tools, some of the best tools in the world, and this hatched can without a question bear your name for its quality and craftsmanship. excellent job.thank you.

Awesome product! This is a beast of an axe for such a small/lightweight piece. I bought this to keep in my day pack for hiking and camping trips and it has performed beyond all expectations. The chopping power you get with this axe considering its size and weight is very impressive. You can throw it in a bag and not even know you have it, but it'll have no problem with taking deep chunks out of branches and trees with one swing for making kindling or clearing a trail. Only thing I would recommend is to spend the extra money on the X7. The only real difference seems to be a little extra rubber on the grip area, but I have found a local store that stocked the X7 and the improved handle design does seem to give you a better grip while swinging. The grip on the std 14" hatchet is fine with bare hands anyway, but with gloves I feel like the little bit of extra rubber on the X7 would help a lot. I liked this hatchet so much that I purchased the X15 as well for larger jobs and hope to pick up a Fiskars splitting axe soon.
