I'm a big fan of FIskars yard tools. When I moved into my current home a few years ago the yard, especially the back yard, was in pretty poor shape. The bushes were all over grown, as were all of the trees, which made growing grass a real problem. I bought a pair of the PowerGear pruners and a couple loppers and got to work. I have to say that I was very impressed with how easy it was to cut through pretty much anything with these tools. The tools are very sharp and maintain their edge with minimal sharpening. The PowerGear system makes yard work easy on your hands and arms. I haven't had any issues with the durability of these tools and I've been using them for four years now.

Have used this pruner for 2 seasons and it has cut and snipped everything I needed it to. Seems easy enough to use and my hands or wrists arent sore after pruning for an hour or more. Good buy.

I used this pruner for about 10 minutes on a rose bush before the gear on the pivot handle skipped a couple of teeth, preventing the pruner from opening fully. When I twisted the handle to reset the gear to the proper position, whatever was holding the rotating handle together broke and the outer handle fell off. I can put it back on, but there is nothing left to hold it in place. This pruner may be designed for easier cutting but is not sturdy enough to handle a 3/4" rose bush stem. I would not recommend this product for anything heavier than cutting flowers.
