The first time you try our PowerGear® Pruner, you’ll be amazed — but it’s not magic, it’s gears. Our patented gear technology multiplies your leverage to give you up to three times more power on every cut. This means you can power through tough stems and branches that you wouldn’t be able to cut with traditional pruners. Designed specifically to fit larger hands comfortably, our pruner also includes a contoured handle with a unique rolling design that fits the shape and natural motion of your hand. Like many of our PowerGear® tools, our pruner has won the Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation®. But it’s not just for people with arthritis — it’s for anyone who appreciates tools that make work easier.

We have 2 of the PowerGear 7936 Pruners. They work very well.
I have been using this pruner for about 10 years. I love it. I love it enough that I bought another. it has just the right amount of spring tension to open the pruner after cutting, but not so strong that it requires too much force to cut. The hinge mechanism is such that it requires significantly less power to easily cut through a fresh branch (I can cut up to about 1/2".. my husband can do the 3/4" without any issues). the handle rotates with your finger/palm, so it rubs less in the hand when cutting. the handles are thick enough that when you have to use a lot of force, it doesn't dig into your hand. It also has a simple latch to keep the unit closed for storage/transport. the base of the blade can cut thick ones, while the tip can cut the thinnest leaf with precison. I would not recommend using this to cut dry twigs/branches, however... only for fresh branches. blade can be easily sharpened, and also replaced. I've been doing quite a bit of heavy duty yard work in the past month, and have not experienced and RSI-related issues. Highly recommended!
Put it back in the package and returned it without cutting a branch. 6'5" and have large hands, and like to let a pruner open all the way between cuts. This is too big for even my hands when used correctly. Sacrificing speed and ease of use to get power through leverage. But the reason I had to return them; each time I let them open fully, they pinched my index finger. Each and every time. There needs to be something to keep your finger out of that pinch point. After all these years of Fiskar products, I couldn't find a pruner I could use. I did get two new loppers(Fiskar), to replace the ones that my wife used on the fence wire cutting vines. The new ones worked very well.
very good product bought my wife one been using it for about ten years.
