First, you’ll need to gather your supplies. Choose colorful patterned papers and bright colored embellishments along with a 5x7 photograph and some neutral colored alphabet stickers. Patterned papers that exhibit a tone on tone print are perfect for adding interest and giving your layout visual depth.
Adhere your photo in the lower right corner of your background paper. Then add a 5” x 5” square of orange faux embossed cardstock. Faux embossed paper adds a fair amount of depth to your finished project. To create this look using solid papers I simply punched several circles using my Medium – Round ‘N Round Squeeze punch and adhered them to a 5” x 5” square of paper of the same color.
Trim any circles that hang off the edge and adhere the faux embossed square to the upper right corner of the background paper. Embellish with your title.Next, adhere a 2 ¼” x 12” strip of blue tone on tone patterned paper running vertically, slightly overlapping the edge of the photo.
Then, create a layered border by punching a 1” x 12” strip of red cardstock using the Upper Crest Border Punch. Trim the half brackets at the beginning and end of the strip.
Continue punching the pieces for your layered border by punching a 12” strip of green patterned paper with the Leave it to Weaver Border Punch. Cut a 3/8” strip of yellow cardstock to weave through the punched green paper.
Weave yellow cardstock through green patterned paper, then adhere red punched strip. Adhere entire layered strip to layout aligning with the left side of the blue tone on tone paper.
Create a button embellishment using the Fuse with light blue cardstock and primary blue ink. Adhere to layout tucking a small amount under the border strips.
Embellish the left-hand side of the layout with various coordinating embellishments and small punched pieces, such as the star punch. Add title and/or journaling.
