Buttons and Bells Gift Tag

I wanted to make an eye catching gift tag to brighten up a plain brown package and decided to go bold with coordinating brown and red.

In fact, this gift tag makes such a statement, it almost does away with the need for actual wrapping paper altogether!

I used the Fuse Creativity System® to create this scalloped circle embellishment as a beautiful base for my gift tag.

To make this gift tag, thread a selection of red bells and wooden buttons onto a length of baker’s twine. I love the contrast of the red and white against the wood!

Next, make a bow using a small piece of ribbon and another wooden button tied at the center. Again, I used baker’s twine to attach the button to the ribbon.

After finding the bottom center point of the gift tag, punch a hole using your Fiskars’ hand punch. Secure the bow on the front and tie the bells and buttons at the back so that they hang below the tag, hiding the knot at the back of the gift tag.

Punch two holes on either side of the tag and thread more baker’s twine through to secure the gift tag to the package.

For a final bold detail and added flair, use some wide satin ribbon underneath the tag and secure firmly around your wrapped gift with a small piece of tape at the join.
