It would display beautifully in a little girl’s bedroom, as a holiday décor piece for Valentine’s Day, or even as a gift for the wedding couple. This project would also look adorable if you included miniature pictures in the collage.
Before building the home décor piece, start with preparing your die-cut. Using the Fuse Creativity System® to create the Postage Stamp Die-Cut with your Love Press Plate. Place into the orange carrier and ink your Love Press Plate. Remove from the orange carrier and add a 4 ½” square piece of cardstock that coordinates with the patterned papers you’ve chosen, and then cover with the Medium Cutting Plate. Crank the stack through your Fuse.
Remove the pressed die-cut and embellish with alphabet stickers to spell “you + me” or with a child’s name. Then add Black Diamond Stickles around the postage stamp die-cut border. Set aside to dry.
Here’s a closer look at the dimension and texture that the glitter glue adds to the pieces. To build the background, measure the inside dimensions of the back of your frame. Cut a piece of chipboard and a piece of cardstock to this measurement. Adhere cardstock to the chipboard to give it extra stability.
Then, cut smaller bits of patterned paper and journaling tags to begin building your collage. You can soften the edges of your pieces by adhering a border punched with the Up In the Clouds Cartridge with your Interchangeable Border Punch Set.
Continue pushing around your layers tucking smaller pieces under the edges of some of the larger pieces. Add dimension to those layers by adhering some of them with foam dimensional tape.
Lastly, layer your embellished die-cut over the top of the collaged pieces.
Add your piece into an 8x10 frame.
