Here is a wonderful way to share Christmas with loved ones all through December. You can share your Christmas with Grandparents, someone serving in the military, or anyone in your family that could use lots of cheer during Christmas time.
You begin by creating 25 cards. Each one is numbered 1-25. You can make these cards as simple or elaborate as you like. The special part will be inside. Having everything ready before December starts will be important to the success of this gift. With all the busyness during December, you don’t want to think about creating the cards while sharing your Christmas.
When creating this many cards all at once, I suggest assembly line card making. This means that each of the parts that are needed for the card are prepared before you put the cards together. (See photo above.) This makes the process of making the cards go quickly and efficiently.
First, you send a letter to your loved one before December begins, explaining that they will begin receiving a card a day throughout December.
At the end of each day in December, you print a photo of something special you did during the day that will share a piece of your Christmas with those that you love. You write a note with each card explaining the tradition, fun event, or everyday activity that happened as it gets closer to Christmas. Maybe you sat on Santa’s lap, made a gingerbread house, played a festive tune at a piano recital, or just put up the decorations.
Seeing your Christmas through a photo and special note for loved ones that can’t be with you, will be magical! Especially if there are children involved.
Then mail it off! It is such an easy way to share your Christmas season and enjoy the traditions of the season all month long until Christmas Day.
