Wrapping gifts for the holidays is one of my favorite rituals of the season. Having a plan and starting early in the season seems to make it more relaxed and enjoyable for me. I have never bought mass produced gift tags. No way. I love the homespun look of a handmade tag and embellishments. Plus you can keep a color scheme AND keep costs down. For the scallops and circles theme, I was able to use pattern paper and cardstock scraps, as well as trims that I had on hand.
So simple, but packs a lot of punch. The box used is a 5”x7”x1”. Punch 14 circles using the Large Round n’ Round Squeeze Punch . Wrap string around box and adhere circles folding in half. For the actual tag, punch scallop circle using Large Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch. Also punch one circle for the center with the Medium Circle Lever Punch. Handwrite sentiment and you're done!
Perfect little wrap for gifting cash. Simply wrap a toilet paper roll with pretty paper, then trim a 1.5" strip of vintage ledger paper and adhere to the center. Take a strip of pattern paper and use the Scallop Sentiment Border Punch along both long sides and adhere over ledger band. Use the Large Seal of Approval Punch and Medium Circle Lever Punch for the initial gift tag, adding a letter sticker. You will also use the 1/4 inch Circle Hand Punch to string the string through and tie to the gift.
Create a flower for the center of your package by tracing 6 circles using one of the Circle Shape Templates (choose your size according to the scale of your box). I used tissue paper for my flower. Simply scrunch up circles to create volume and depth and stitch all circles together. For the tag, use the XXLarge Lever Tag Punch for the base. Use the Medium Circle Punch (used above) for the center circle on tag. Add a letter sticker and tie on your package.
Use the XXLarge Lever Tag Punch again (as above), the Large Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch (blue) and then use the Medium Circle Lever Punch on a photo. This I love for our nonreading little ones.
Use the Scallop Sentiment Border Punch on pretty pattern paper and adhere to the top and bottom of box. Then add a wide band of pattern paper to center of package and vintage fabric trim (that happens to be a scallop pattern). The tag is another Large Seal of Approval Squeeze Punched shape with a Medium Circle Lever Punch center and sticker.
A simple office tag is embellished on this one. The photo tag is a repeat of an example above. The scallops at the bottom of the tag were created by punching 3 small circles and cutting them in half and adhering to the tag. The punch used was the Pop-up Circle Punch.
