Spring Border Bookmarks

When it comes to my reading list, my eyes are often bigger than my schedule. So many books, so little time!

As a result, I’m often in the midst of several books at the same time. To help keep my place, I created these oversized bookmarks using the AdvantEdge™ Border punches. Wouldn’t these make a great gift, combined with a copy of your favorite book?

Bookmark borders with the Advantedge punches

Both bookmarks start with a cardstock base trimmed to 2.5in x 6in. The AdvantEdge™ Border punches are great layered vertically, or used in pieces. Let’s take a closer look at each of these designs:

Using the petal by petal punch to create ivy

For this bookmark, I was inspired by the ivy-like leaves in the florals of the patterned paper. I layered a strip of patterned paper, a cardstock strip punched with the AdvantEdge™ Garden Lattice punch, and a smaller strip of patterned paper. To create the ivy look, I used small petals from the Petal by Petal squeeze punch.

Bookmark poppy design

For the Poppy Bookmark, I used the AdvantEdge™ Flower Garden punch to create a focal area at the base of the bookmark. Layered over patterned paper, the cardstock border helps the punched poppy shape to really stand out.

Tip: I used a small circle that was left over from my Petal by Petal punches for the inside of the flower.

To finish both bookmarks, I added a bit of ribbon to the top. Happy reading!
