To garden effectively, there are terms you need to know.
Early Spring is a great time to plant lemons, limes, oranges, and other citrus trees in southern climates.
Now that your seeds have sprouted and green growth is filling up every inch of your seedling trays, what’s next?
Starting plants from seeds is an inexpensive and fun way to try different types of vegetables and flowers, as many heirloom and uncommon varieties are often easiest to find as seeds.
While children love helping to plant seeds in the garden and equally love to see the first growth popping up through the surface, the wait between the two stages can really try their patience!
Attracting pollinators to the garden is relatively simple. Consider what living creatures need for life: fresh water, food sources and safety.
As a guy who loves to grow his own food, I still don’t have all the room or time I need to enjoy everything summer’s bounty has to offer.
There it is. One little green bean. Ripe, yummy, and gorgeous, sitting in the palm of a 5 year old’s hand.
One of the easiest and best things you can do to green your garden is to place a wide assortment of native plants throughout your garden and landscape.
If there were only one bit of advice I’d give for creating the healthiest garden possible, it would be to put the right plant in the right place.
Do I really feel so strongly? Well, yes and no. In spite of their many faults, I try to find the good in everything, even weeds. And as difficult as it may be to imagine, they do have a place on this earth…really.
Which is more eco-friendly, a real or artificial Christmas tree?
There’s no denying modern hybridized produce is pretty amazing.
