Whether it is your go-to bag for shopping or a gift for someone, this simple and chic crossbody purse is a great bag for everyday of the year.
I tore some pages from an old book and lightly misted them with some glitter mists. The shine is very subtle. I let them dry a few minutes before adhering them onto my canvas. I didn't adhere each page down completely, but instead left a slight unglued ragged edge. I used mod podge as my adhesive, but you could use a matte multi-medium too. Cover the entire canvas with the misted book pages in this manner.
Next, I cut some felt pieces to size using the Amplify® Mixed Media Shears and adhered these onto the canvas where I wanted the title to be.
Since this is a sewing-themed canvas, I knew for sure I wanted to incorporate some embroidery floss and twine into my design. I went for a haphazard look, and layered the floss onto the canvas is a pleasing color arrangement. I used hot glue at points to hold this onto the canvas.
To spell the word 'sew' I used chipboard alphas and covered each alpha with a different color of felt. I adhered the felt onto the chipboard using some mod podge and then used the Amplify® Mixed Media scissors to trim around the letters.
Next, I adhered burlap bag on top of the floss arrangement, making sure that all the hot glue spots were covered by it. I simply adhered the whole entire bag itself because I liked the texture and dimension and brought to the canvas. I trimmed some vintage fabric to fit onto the burlap and pinned it into place.
To finish off the canvas, I added a few wooden buttons, spools and buttons around the canvas.
