Looks like a quality tool. The pivot point is soft metal. Pressed on non adjustable nut is frustrating. If Fiskars would use a hardened metal bolt and nyla nut this tool would be great. I suggest buying Corona pruners for the same price.
I have 7-8 pairs of these on my trailer. All of them have issues with the bolt and nut pivot point.. I believe this tool and others built by Fiscars are constructed in such a way to look like quality tools . But have a built in flaw to keep you buying more in the future out of frustration. I will call the company to order new pivots. Iam sure that the lifetime warranty will not pertain to me. Professional tradesmen are not covered. The bolt or pivot point is built from soft steel, with a pressed on soft metal nut. Tightening of this results in a stripped nut and bolt with slop in between the surfaces. Resulting in a bad cut with a sliver of plant material left behind. I feel this product only lasts for 30 to 40 hours of use. Home owners this will be ok for you ,but forget about having these last any real time if you prune often. If Fiskars is willing to send out a quality nut and bolt for a replacement I will be happy and surprised. Sincerely Erich Landscaper since 1991.
Decent pruner until you need to sharpen or replace the blade - the screw and nut are not meant to be opened - the end of the screw is pressed so the nut can not come off for dis-assembly. If you force it out, it will not come back in without some machining of the screw. This is not only on my sample, others in home depot stock were the same. Beware - a tool that does not allow dis-assembly for blade replacement or sharpening is not a "professional tool".
